Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
Laude is built and operated by Luke Marvin ("Laude," "we," "us"). Laude scores parts of your life from your habits, health, focus sessions, money and phone use. That's personal, so this policy is specific about what we handle, where it lives, and how to delete it.
The short version: Your data is private to your account. We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we share data only with the service providers that run the app. Screen Time data never leaves your phone. You can permanently delete your account and all your data from inside the app at any time.
What we collect
Account information. You sign in with Apple. We receive the name and email address Apple shares (you can hide your real email, and that works fine). Sign-in is handled by Clerk, our authentication provider, which assigns your account a user ID.
Habits and logs. The habits you choose and what you confirm: workouts, sleep, steps, time with people, reaching out, clean spending days. Each is stored as a result for a day (for example, "trained: yes"), used to compute your scores.
Health data. If you allow it, Laude reads workouts, sleep and step counts from Apple Health. We store only derived results (for example, "slept at least 7 hours: yes" or "8,000 steps: yes"), never your raw health samples. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing and is never shared with analytics providers.
Focus sessions. The start and end times of your Lock In sessions, and for learning sessions, the topic and one-line note you write.
Money check-ins. If you complete a monthly check-in, the four numbers you enter (money in, money out, assets, debts). These are encrypted before they're stored. Laude never connects to your bank.
Screen Time data. If you allow it, Laude uses Apple's Screen Time framework to block the apps you choose during sessions and to see how much time you spend on them. This data is processed and stored only on your device. It is never uploaded to our servers, never sent to analytics, and never shared. Because of this, your DISCIPLINE history doesn't transfer if you move to a new phone.
Crash and error data. If the app crashes or hits an error, we receive a technical report through Sentry: device model, OS version, and what the app was doing. Reports exclude your health values, money amounts, app usage, and session notes.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to record that you did something in the app (for example, completing onboarding, confirming a habit, or starting a session) along with basic device information. Analytics never include health values, money amounts, Screen Time data, or what you write. We don't use session recording.
Purchase information. Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never receive your card details. We receive your subscription status through RevenueCat so the app knows what to unlock.
Website. getlaude.com is hosted by Vercel, which processes standard request data (such as your IP address) to deliver the site. The site doesn't use analytics or advertising cookies. The waitlist is run by Beacons, under Beacons' own privacy policy.
Server logs. Our servers keep short-lived technical logs (IP address, timestamps, request information) for security and debugging, deleted on a rolling basis.
We don't collect your location, your contacts, or advertising identifiers. There are no ads in Laude and no advertising technology of any kind.
How we use it
To compute and show your scores, sync your data across sign-ins, run your subscription, fix bugs, and understand which features help. That's all.
Who we share it with
| Provider | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Sign-in | Name, email, user ID |

Apart from these providers, we don't share your data with anyone, except if required by law.
Storage and security
Your data is stored on servers in the United States. All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Every request verifies your identity before returning any data. Money check-ins are additionally encrypted before storage.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. To delete everything, open Settings → Delete Account in the app. This permanently deletes your sign-in account and all your data from our database; deleted data ages out of automated backups within 30 days. Data stored only on your device, such as Screen Time results, is removed when you delete the app. You can also email us and we'll delete your account for you.
Children
Laude is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If we learn we have, we'll delete it.
Where Laude is available
Laude is currently offered in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. For material changes, we'll notify you in the app.
